Genre: I can tell the genre of this double page spread is indie rock by the colours used - red and black these are typical colours for a rock magazine.
Target Audience: I'd say the target audience is both genders as I feel both men and women would be interested in this artist which is featured, there is a certain sex appeal about Lady Gaga. I think this would appeal to an older audience due to the image used which would be quite inappropriate for younger readers therefore i think the age is seventeen to mid twenties. The audience will be interested in this artist so the target audience would listen to this kind of music.
Layout: One of the pages of the double page spread is covered with a photograph, a medium close up has been used so we get to see the emotion on the artists face and relate to the artist more.I think the use of the the red capital L attracts the reader straight away and makes them want to read whats underneath. The text on the right page is set out in three straight columns, which makes it easy to follow, the capital black letters are in a bigger font which shows its a new point and more important. They have a heading at the top of the page which shows the reader straight away who the double page spread is about.
Media Language: The picture of Lady Gaga is a medium close up and also an eye level shot, this shows her chest up because she hasn't got many clothes on so cannot use a long shot as they are usually used to show the clothes worn. The medium close up focus' on her face, the eye level shot makes us seem on her level and doesn't make her seem intimidating.
Representation: The photo is is used to crate a sexual vibe, as the artist is touching her chest and hasn't got any clothes on, she seems to just be wearing chains which doesn't hide much of her body. The background is just white which makes it seem a cool atmosphere.
